What is this?

This blog was inspired by a friend of mine. He has been journaling using photos that he takes daily and publishes to facebook. I am going to attempt to do something similar, but in the form of a blog. I am the wife of a wonderful, godly, fishing addict and a work-at-home mama of three beautiful boys and life, while it can be beautiful, can also be mundane, which can suck the joy out of everyday living. I have so much to be thankful for, and in beginning this blog, I'm hoping to regain my joy. I hope that this will cause me to seek beauty and pleasure in my everyday life. Today is 7-27-11, no significant date, but I hope, the beginning of something really special <3

A couple of parameters for this blog: I will attempt to sum up each day with 1 picture (A collage is okay!). I will keep my posts short and to the point and I will be taking all pictures with my iPhone 4. Enjoy!

3-25-12

Church this morning then some bloggy, family time the rest of the day. Gotta fry some fish up for tomorrow's birthday dinner. Good rainy day.

3-24-12

Opening day.  Si ran the bases with his team, it was so cute.  I liked seeing all of the older teams, it made me excited for the day when all three of my men will be playing baseball.

3-23-12

Had a nice night with the in-laws today.  Went to Farmer Boys for dinner, I ate like a pig because I was starving.  I put in a lot of miles this week already.  Nine on Wednesday and six today with the lovely Sabryna.  Went to Toys 'r' Us and then Freddy's for some ice cream.

3-22-12

Si got his uniform today and took pictures.  Daddy was not happy about that hat!  But, he's so cute and he's loving baseball so much.  It's so fun to watch him play.  Waiting to get the game schedule, also waiting for a car...

3-21-12

Broke in the new Ravenna's today with a nine mile run.  I did it all by myself.  I just needed to jump that hurdle.  Still trying to get faster, but it's not happening as quickly as I would like it to.

3-20-12

This guy is five today.  I can't believe it.  I spent the day with my sister-in-law at the third street promenade.  Had a wonderful time, but couldn't wait to get home to my big five year old.  I got him some special toys in Santa Monica and bought the Muppet movie.  We had some cake and ended our night watching the Muppets together.  Family movie nights are my favorite.

3-19-12

Took the van back today.  We are going to borrow a friends truck for a while, until we find a good minivan.  I did not like the Dodge.  It felt like it would fall apart.  H. had a rough afternoon.  I took this picture because I was staring at him in the rear view mirror on the way to the dealership.  He just needs special attention <3

3-18-12

Went to evening service today, and stayed home all day as a family.  It was very nice.  Got a lot done.  And got some snuggle time in with my caveman.

3-17-12

Did a funeral, and a wedding today.  Daddy took the kids to the dealership to give the truck back and brought reinforcements... Uncle Jason.  We are now lending a Dodge minivan.  I already don't like it.  We went to dinner with Uncle Jason and I took pictures of the bean.  The bottom two were taken when the camera was facing him.  Notice the difference.

3-16-12

Went to a lovely wedding today with my hubby.  Sold the highlander on Wednesday and now we are in the market for a truck.  Billy lent us a brand new Dodge for the night so we could try it out.  It didn't work.  We decided that we need to get a family car.  So, looks like I'm getting my dream van sooner then I thought.

3-15-12

Auntie Sarah snapped this photo of my bean today at family lunch.  How cute is he?  I cannot stand it.

3-14-12

This guy's sick now :(  I hope no one else gets it.  He is so pathetic when he's sick.

3-13-12

Silas sent a happy birthday message to his friend today :)  Love this kid.  He will be five in a week.  O-M-G.

3-12-12

Found a training schedule on the Ragnar site today.  It's so nice having a guide.  My training is going well, but it's just another thing I have on my plate.  We're going to try and get our treadmill fixed so that I can start running early in the morning, before the boys wake up.  Hope it happens soon.

3-11-12

This man, he is 32 today.  I can't believe we've been married for 10 years.  I couldn't have asked for anyone better.  I love him so very much and I'm excited to spend many more years with him.  Happy birthday my love.

3-10-12

Daddy's gone again today, I researched minivans today.  Discovered which one I want when the time comes.  Still waiting to sell the Highlander, hope it happens soon.

3-9-12

The bean.  He's into everything lately, and he is hilarious.  He is so much fun.  He is feeling better and I am so happy.  Daddy's been gone at the Spring Classic, trying to enjoy my time alone with the boys.

3-8-12

Yes, I hate it when people post pictures of themselves too.  I'm only posting this one because it's one of many that I took while in the car, waiting for Silas to finish up baseball practice.  Had a sick bean, and he needed to stay in the car.  The lighting was cool, so I kept taking pictures.  Shut up, don't worry, I won't do it again.

3-7-12

Been making smoothies a lot lately.  This one was a protein shake post-workout.  Trying to do the vegan thing when I make a smoothie.  I use almond milk and frozen fruit.  The almond milk doesn't taste very good though.  I think I'll try rice.

3-6-12

Got to drive my dream car today while my windshield is being replaced.  This thing was awesome!  It had bluetooth, two DVD screens, heated seats, electric doors, it was awesome.  Someday...

3-5-12

Had to put two photos today. I know it's against the rules. Had a great day at home with the kids. Started the day off with a good time in the word. Worked a little. Got some info about Kinder registration. Made a blood orange and apple fruit salad. Gotta document that blankie of Si's too. It gets smaller and smaller and i find pieces of it everywhere. He keeps telling me that he wont have it when he grows up. And I keep asking him when that will be. Overall, I feel pretty productive. My to do list is still a mile long, but I dot think anything is ever going to change that. Daddy took Si on a date tonight to get our car windshield replaced. We got a minivan as a loaner car. I cannot wait to drive it tomorrow. What a mom I am, my dream car is a tricked out minivan.

3-4-12

My room is actually clean.  Daddy had one more day at the Classic today and I stayed home and cleaned.  Someone came to look at the car this morning and actually wanted to buy it.  I spent most of the morning trying to figure out how the transaction would take place.  Our wonderful friend made arrangements to get all of the paperwork done at his dealership the following day.  We had the car sold!  Or so we thought.  Daddy got a call in the afternoon from the potential buyers saying that they had changed their minds.  We felt like someone had punched us in the stomach.  Then we got over it.  The Lord will bring someone else along, someone better.  I cleaned the whole house all the way to the kitchen, that's as far as I got.  I just can't get through it all in one day.  I took me six hours to get through just that portion.  Now, when I say cleaned, I mean cleaned, scrubbed, floors, everything.  I'm seriously considering rehiring my cleaning lady to come twice a month.  I need to work it out financially, but I'm thinking it's a must.  I've been so busy lately, I need to have something taken off of my daily list.  A good house cleaning a couple times a week would be great.

3-3-12

Practice in the morning, then lunch with Daddy, before he had to head to the Classic again.  Went home and actually took a nap.  I never take naps.  That night, I told Daddy to guess what I did?  He guessed.  I don't know how he knew, but he guessed that I finished my bible study, then fell asleep.  He knows me so well.

3-2-12

Work in the morning, then sent Daddy off to the Classic in the evening.  I was thankful to have a day at home.  We did run out for a brief trip to a local sporting goods store to grab baseball stuff for Si, because we were so unprepared yesterday for practice.  I would not be caught off guard again.

3-1-12

Ventured out to the Farmer's Market today with the little boys.  There is a vendor there that sells amazing greek delights.  My favorite was the tabouleh.  I will definitely be visiting him again.  Today was a challenging day.  It started with a long trip to the bank where H. ate it in the parking lot because he insisted on wearing his spiderman mask inside.  When we left and were almost to the car, his vision was obstructed because of said mask and he fell flat on his face.  This ruined his day and seemed to set mine off as well.  Our farmer's market trip was good, then Silas came home from school and we all ate the greek delights and some delicious Clementine wannabes for lunch.  I had to then, throw the kids in the car and get a car wash, so that the car was ready for a detail by my hubby the next day.  We listed it for sale and have been getting a lot of calls about it.  I then, got a phone call as I was making dinner, early I might add, in anticipation of an online meeting that I had scheduled that afternoon, that Silas had his first baseball practice in just a couple of hours.  We ate and then headed out and watched his first practice in subzero temperatures.  Bible Study was that night as well.  It was just a never ending day, I was exhausted and grumpy.  Let's try for a good one tomorrow.

2-29-12

Happy Leap Day!  This is how mine started out.  My emotional H. woke up grumpy, which isn't uncommon and I knew he just needed a little love before he ventured out and started his day.  He came into my room in tears, when I asked him what was wrong, he couldn't really tell me.  He's not much of a talker.  I then scooped him up and held him for a while.  We had no place to be, no school to rush off to, so I postponed breakfast for a bit, and gave him some love.  He's my snugglebug, that's for sure, but he's that way because he needs to be.  He, out of the three, responds the most to hugs and kisses.  I figure, his response speaks a little to his need, so I respond like this to him as much as I can.  My thing right now with these boys, is that I will know them as individuals and respond to them as such.  My H. is a special one, I've known that from the day he was born.  We have a special bond.  My mama's boy <3

2-28-12

This boy is almost 5.  In just a few short weeks, he will pass from toddler to little boy.  I will be registering him for Kindergarten in the next couple of weeks.  I cannot believe it.  I feel like he's ready to start school, like he's ready to make the transition and be a real boy.  But I know that when I drop him off that first day, my heart will drop into my stomach, just like it did on his first day of preschool.  He is my firstborn, the trial and error child (poor thing), the perfect baby that caused me to rush into having his little brothers because I was so in love with him.  What a great kid.  I pray that we continue to discover who he is, and that we can raise a secure, purposed, and dedicated boy.

2-27-12

Cordi family birthday dinner tonight.  On the menu: Mom's homemade pozole with all of the fixings, chips and salsa (from La Casita), salad and blueberry pie for dessert.  It was her first time making it and it was amazing.  Everyone ate until they were sick and then ate lots of pie and got even more sick.  It was a snowy night to top off a good evening.  Bean loved the snow, Auntie A was gracious enough to take him outside in the bitter cold, so he could throw his arms up and marvel.

2-26-12

Caught up on my DVR today after church. Daddy had to leave me for a seminar, so I spent some much needed time relaxing in front of the tube. It's a rare occasion these days. Caught up on 30 rock and had to snap this pic of Tina dressed like a homeless old woman. Watch the episode if you get a chance. I couldn't stop laughing.

2-25-12

Family Costco trip today where we consumed much junk food in the form of cheap hot dogs and pizza. Why does their cafeteria food taste so dang good? We are in the process of switching out our light bulbs. Hoping to bring down our electric bill. Costco was having their annual rebates on energy saving bulbs. We scored! Hoping my bill is decreased dramatically next month.

2-24-12

Started making smoothies for the boys.  It's green because I snuck in some Spinach.  They never knew.  Si will eat anything if it's disguised in something that tastes sweet.  I felt victorious as he gulped it down and asked for seconds.  The more veggies they consume, the better.  And raw veggies at that!
